Swimming!!

Saturday after James' week three Crossfit workout, we took a little walk to our pool.  We had taken Grayson a few weeks ago to Joe and Breana's pool and he seemed to like it.  We figured since it's getting warmer and warmer, he would like it even more . . . . and we were right!! He LOVED it!  It was a little too cold for me to get anything more than my toes in.  But James and Grayson had a blast!

Although he is frowning - he had a great time, I promise!!

We swam a pretty long time - enough to wear the little guy out.  He took a nice nap when we got back inside.

Five Painful Minutes

WEEK THREE

Once again this past Saturday we drove over to Bayou City Crossfit and James did the Crossfit Games week three workout.  This one was crazy crowded (5 heats of 5 people each) - it was probably the most fun week so far for Grayson and I to watch.  We are getting to where we see the same people every week doing the competition workout - and it's nice to see familiar faces cheering each other on!

Here is a short video of the workout, and I do mean short.  Grayson was super wiggly so I didn't really get to video much of it.  But also, the entire workout was only 5 minutes long.  It was a "do as many as you can of these in 5 minutes" . . . James had a great strategy - he paced himself.  He did 3 of the movements per 30 seconds.  He did AWESOME!!

After the week 3 workout, James has moved up to 129th place in our Region (thats out of 788)! The top 60 go to the Regionals competition June 17 - 19 in Tomball.  Even if James is not competing in the Regionals, we will definitely be going to watch.  Two of the guys that are at Bayou City every Saturday (the gym owner and one of the trainers) are doing really well too!

Crossfit Games

WEEK TWO

This past Saturday we took a short drive up to Bayou City so James could enter his weekly workout in the competition.  We were able to meet several more Crossfitters who were, as always, super supportive of everyone doing the workout.  This week there were three heats worth of people doing the workout, and James went in heat one.  I'm extremely proud to say that James had one of the BEST results!  I think the only person that beat him was the crossfit trainer who did the workout (and he really doesn't count b/c he's a trainer?!)

The workout was to do 9 deadlifts, 12 pushups, and 15 box jumps - as many rounds of this as you can do in (AMRAP) in 15 minutes.  I took some video from the earlier minutes of his workout (the last few minutes consisted of extreme pain, lots of grunting, and a lake of sweat on the mat below him.)

In this second video I got a quick shot of the box (the gym) and the other crossfitters working out in heat 1.

After two weeks of workouts, James in 153rd place in our region (out of 788 competitors in this region) and he's in 2,318 place out of 11,225 total competitors in the world!!

I am SO SO proud of him! Some of these people have been doing crossfit for years - James doesn't even have a full year under his belt!

Shopping Carts and High Chairs

These past couple of weeks have been some of the most exciting as far as Grayson Milestones go.  He has mastered sitting up, which means he can sit in a shopping cart! And he LOVES it - he can see so much more!
Here is is all settled in. . . checking out his new ride
Here we are entering HEB - I think he likes it!

I found out this morning that probably the only down side of the shopping cart instead of his car seat is that if I have to use the restroom, I have to take him out, carry, and hold him while using the restroom. . . MUCH harder than just setting his car seat on the floor of the bathroom. (but that was a pretty nasty place to put a car seat)

Another milestone we have hit is being able to sit in a highchair at restaurants! This one is just plain fun. :) Here we are at Seoul Garden on Saturday after James finished his Week Two Crossfit workout at Bayou City Crossfit.  We only gave Grayson the chopsticks for this picture. . . then we replaced them with a much safer spoon.

Ready for some Bulgogi!!

Lastly, here's a little video of Grayson and Parker (our chocolate lab).  I can already tell they are going to be best buddies! Just in case you notice, Parker STILL has a bald spot on the top of his back from when he got shaved for his ACL surgery. .. we're having a tough time getting his soft curls back right there!
