Christmas 2008

What can I say, it's been forever since we last posted something but for our comeback we brought another movie/slideshow.  This year for Christmas things have been a little different for both Shelby and I because of the wedding and all, but we were able to celebrate a small but sweet night together here in College Station.

In the pictures we tried to make it look like we had a ton of gifts but there were actually only 4 in  total.  (Casey and Parker didn't actually get wrapped presents, but let's just say they each have a brand new tennis ball to play with)  Shelby got me some new church socks (gold toe - the nice ones), an awesome tie, and a fossil watch which is amazingly spectacular.  She received new Victoria Secret satin pajamas and a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for the cruise.  We both loved each other's gifts.

Now that it's over I think that we can both look back and realize how blessed each one of us is. We both have great families and friends that are always willing to help us out and do just about anything for us.   I'll have to say that the best part of Christmas is definitely the part where you look and search for that perfect present to give to a loved one.  Nothing feels better than seeing the expression someone has after they've received something special.  I hope we can all remember the ultimate gift that was given to us during this season!

So yesterday we were able to go down to Tomball and relax a little, well for me at least.  Shelby took her bridal portraits at Houston Oaks with Tyan and her cousing Tori.  The weather was great and we were able to bring the dogs too.  I hope everyone got to see the Tech/Texas game cause it was awesome.  Shelby's grandpa, "Pawpaw" sure does have a nice 10 foot flatscreen, j/k.  (but it is big).   I just wish that I would've been in Lubbock with Shelby's fam to enjoy the tailgating and all food!

Today during the afternoon Shelby and I decided to go to research park with the dogs and try to see if Parker felt like trying to get a little wet.  To our amazement this time he just jumped right in.  We got a few clips in the movie I made.  Also in the movie I added "Tater" who is Callie's dog (Shelby's sister).  They had come down a week or so ago and we had fun taking pictures of him.  He's just about as chill as they come.

Engagement Pictures

So last Saturday we went to Independence (small town about 30 miles from College Station) and took engagement pictures with Tyan Jacox.  We haven't gotten any yet from her so I just posted a pretty picture that Shelby and I took a while back.  If you want to check out Tyan's work go to tinybirdphotography.com

Casey and Parker

So I finally figure out how to post this video of Casey and Parker with Julie's help.  Hope it works.

A Visit To The Hospital

So last Friday I had the pleasure of touring once again the facilities of the Physicians Center again here in College Station, Texas.  It was a blast - they gave me all this feel good medicine and I could hardly remember a thing, and while I was there, I got my ACL repaired! Yayy.  So here's a few clips of my enjoyable weekend.

Don't ask me how Shelby ever got me to pose for this picture.  Obviously I was under some medications.  I guess after you go in for the same surgery more than once, you just start feeling way too comfortable in those gowns.

I'm not quite sure if this one is of me before or after the surgery, but I sure hope they didn't do the whole procedure with my glasses on. . ? Maybe this was just a snoozing shot from Friday afternoon.
What better than a balloon to laugh at and a new knee brace (now I have like 12 of those braces).  These were compliments of Joe.  All in all, everything is alright, I'm getting better and Shelby is taking care of me with everyone else here.

Mother's Day in October

So this weekend Joseph, Shelby, and I went to Palestine in the morning so that we could eat lunch with Dad and Sharon.  We had burgers and hotdogs by "Joe" and they were great. (oh yeah, shrimp too).  We were then delighted to see Joseph and Dad work on getting the world's easiest remote for multiple functions to work.  Does such a thing truly exist??  It was real fun though just being in Palestine at home to hang out and relax.   After lunch Shelby and I drove up to Tyler to get her wedding dress finalized and fixed all up just right for the big day.  I have to say, today was the first day that I really wanted to see her in her dress, especially with all the Murray's saying how pretty and awesome it was.

Here's Joe driving to Palestine in my Sentra.  It has one gear, . . .that only goes about 80 m.p.h.  Needless to say, we made it in one piece, and had fun doing it.

These were the flowers Shelby and I put together (mainly Shelby, but I supported).  We even got little pumpkin things to put there too (Serena's idea).  It turned out really nice I thought, and I know Mom would've loved it.  Shelby's sooo awesome!!

After Palestine we came back to College Station and met up with Serena, Dave, and Maggie to eat dinner together.  Serena cooked, Dave watched Maggie dance, and the rest of us just drooled over the food (even Shelby).  The menu tonight included bulgolgi, white rice, veggies, soy sauce, and all you can eat KIMCHEE, . . .and ginger ale. lol.  We all tore it up including Dave aaaand Shelby.  Too bad Anthony that you couldn't be down.  I've actually got downloaded a program that makes the picture above a scratch and sniff, so have at it.

For all though, today was a memorable day for our Mom.  We all miss her and hope that today was honorable for her.   We can all remember the good times and everything that she taught us so that her life won't be forgotten.  I love you all and wish the best for everyone.

Parker and Casey

So I couldn't figure out how to ever get that video up so here's some pictures. '
Enjoy!

Parker is a sucker at using those little ol puppy eyes.

This is what Casey thought about Parker upon his arrival.  Yikes!!

This one is of Parker when we had just picked him up.  He didn't cry one bit all the way home.
